Reviews
- flourishing_jacarandaCame here on a whim — it's on the second floor of Le Cheng Center, super easy to get to, and it's a chain spot. Place is pretty spacious with tons of tables, though we did have to wait a bit during the rush. They have deals on the app too which is a nice bonus. Honestly their zhajiang noodles are super solid and pretty close to that classic old Beijing style. Big chunks of fatty and lean pork, noodles have that nice chewy bite, and you can get them hot from the pot or rinsed cold. Tons of different veggie toppings too. I've been to a few of their branches and they all taste about the same, so no need to fight the crowds at the original Qianmen location. This one was totally fine. One thing though — went on a holiday and they had way fewer noodle options than before. Used to have like grandpa's, dad's, your own, all these different kinds, but now it's basically just the black pork zhajiang noodles and the hutong ones. Bit of a bummer. On the bright side, the snacks here are awesome. The crispy tripe noodles, the hand-torn sausage, the fried sausage, and the douzhi (that Beijing classic) are all worth trying — those are their signature snack items for sure. Oh and the noodles already come with that pickled garlic for Laba, so no need to order extra. Definitely gonna be back.
