- soft_hempMy friend and I had been wanting to try that Baps place on Fuxing Middle Road for a while, so when I saw they opened a spot on the West Bund I immediately grabbed a buddy to come check it out with me. It was a freezing cold weekday evening and the Poly area was kinda dead, the restaurant itself was almost empty too, just a few delivery orders going out. The decor is American industrial style and since there was no one around we just grabbed a big table and scanned the QR code to order, super convenient. I got a set menu for two on Dianping and went with the Hawaiian grilled pineapple wagyu burger and the cheese bacon wagyu burger. The patties weren't super thick but they were still pretty juicy, and my friend was really into the sauce. The lemongrass golden chicken wings had a really obvious lemongrass flavor and the meat was tender and juicy too. The little side dishes were all solid as well, the Russian dill pickled cucumbers were super refreshing and cut through the richness. We also ordered the traditional homemade English sausages with the cuttlefish sausage platter and the onion rings, personally I'd recommend the sausage platter more. Beer is all bottled and you just grab it yourself from the fridge. Overall it's a pretty decent casual spot and the staff were nice. If you check in you get free shrimp chips, and after 3pm every day there's a buy one get one happy hour on drinks, plus extra deals Monday through Friday, so coming with friends is honestly a really good deal.
