- dumpy_nigellaTaste is kinda subjective I guess, personally I thought it was just okay overall. But one thing I did like is that the desserts are simple without trying to be overly fancy or complicated. The "Raspberry Roll" had a really nice balance of raspberry flavor — the raspberry sauce, the plain mousse, and the cake base all worked well together. The sweet-tart raspberry and the creamy notes canceled each other out in a good way, and the texture was super light. The cake itself had a strong structure to it but still felt airy and soft. The only thing I didn't love was the vanilla cream — for some reason it tasted like artificial vanilla extract, which is weird 'cause I could see the vanilla seeds in it? The "Chocolate Crunch" one — I had high expectations but it was pretty average. The presentation was super plain, so I was expecting the flavor to make up for it, but the chocolate just wasn't that rich. There's chocolate cake as a base, and the hazelnut flavor is kinda subtle. The crispy bits add a little texture so there's some layering going on, but the flavor doesn't really match up to the texture. The "Matcha Latte" — I got it without sugar, so the matcha aroma didn't really pop as much, but you could still taste that seaweed note. It was a pretty standard cup. For French-style desserts the prices here aren't bad, so the value is decent.
