  Yangfang Shuanrou just opened a new spot on the 3rd floor of the Yizhuang Daz族 Plaza T3 — super easy to find, just a 2 min walk from the subway. Been around in Beijing for like 40 years apparently, and they really keep it traditional with the old-school copper pot hotpot. The broth is just spring water so you can really taste the meat, and the grass-fed lamb is so tender, no gamey smell at all. The beef shank was nice and firm too, good chew on it. You HAVE to order the "Shengli Fanghua" platter — it looks amazing when it comes out, paper-thin slices that literally cook in seconds, honestly some of the best texture I've had. The hand-pounded shrimp paste is loaded with whole shrimp and fish roe, super springy and bouncy. The dipping sauce is honestly the star — sesame paste with their freshly fried chili oil and fermented tofu, so authentic Beijing flavor. Staff was really attentive, they actually helped us cook the meat which was clutch. They also gave out individually wrapped sweet garlic and these cute custom aprons, which was a nice touch. The new location is running a buy 100 get 100 back deal which is solid value. Great for hanging with friends or family dinner. Just go at off-peak times or you'll definitely be waiting in line.
