Reviews
- feisty_pecanThis little sesame flatbread shop is tucked into the ground floor of the Shengda building on Zhenwumiao Sijiao — the kind of hole-in-the-wall spot locals actually go to, super no-frills and full of that real neighborhood vibe. The flatbreads are made and baked fresh right when you order. The crust is paper thin — seriously, like a cicada's wing — and the second you bite in it shatters into crumbs. Crispy on the outside, soft and pillowy inside, and the layers are just perfect. I tried the one stuffed with pickled plum veggies and pork, and the filling was packed in there, a nice mix of fatty and lean, not too sweet not too salty, and it smelled incredible the second it came out of the oven. You can also order ahead on WeChat and just pick it up, which is clutch because there's usually a line. Today I actually ended up waiting around long enough to catch the flyover during the military parade and grabbed a little video of the jets going by — totally didn't expect that, kind of a fun bonus.
