- Lake_11Not a busy spot but honestly kinda charming little rice noodle place. Went with a friend and was pretty surprised. Location's in Shunyi, over on the east side of Huayuan West Street, tucked in with a few other small shops. There's a paid lot at the animal hospital just south of there if you're driving, and a bus stop right on the street. Super easy to get to. First impression — you'd honestly walk right past it if someone didn't point it out. No big office buildings or apartments nearby so I bet most of their business is delivery. But inside it's clean and tidy, and they're doing Yunnan-style noodles and rice dishes plus some grilled skewers and small bites. Looks like your average quick lunch spot at first glance but the food actually has some real character. So we tried a few things. The signature mini pot rice noodles were what my friend got and I had a couple bites. Broth's a little on the oily side but not too salty, lots of shredded pork, bean sprouts, leafy greens, and I think there was some er si in there too? Everything tasted really fresh and the noodles had a nice bite, didn't turn to mush. Solid. The clear broth pork noodles were more my speed — milder, a bit saltier in a good way, way less oil. Same kind of toppings but the star was honestly the pork. Didn't look like much, kinda just a lump sitting in there, but the texture was shockingly good, tender with just the right chew, and they weren't stingy with it either. Really lifted the whole bowl. Then the black three-chopped meat rice bowl — this was the one I kept going back to. Totally different from any black three-chopped I've had before. Most places I've tried just kind of phone it in but this one actually had...
