- petite_yewMy wife was craving hotpot and since it was Chinese New Year, hardly anything was open. Stumbled on this place and figured we'd give it a try! The hotpot was pretty unique — they use this little alcohol burner underneath. My wife took one taste of the dipping sauce and said "this is Gansu style." Sure enough, we asked the owner and yeah, he's from Tianshui. Portions were decent. Probably because of the holiday, the meat wasn't super fresh though, especially the lamb which was supposed to be fresh-cut but was clearly frozen slices. The food — the grilled skewers were really tender and tasted great! The vibe — for the price, it was kinda meh honestly. Just the two of us plus a kid under three and it came to 400. The service — actually really good, super patient with us.
