Reviews
- wide_gopherThis Siji Minfu location at the Hong Kong Plaza on Huaihai Road is apparently a pretty well-known spot for Peking duck in Shanghai. The duck is carved tableside, and wow — the skin was super crispy with this subtle fruity wood smoke flavor, and the meat was really tender. Wrapping it up in those thin pancakes was honestly so satisfying. Beyond the duck, we also tried the pea shoot salad, the Beijing-style quick-fried tripe, and the "beile" style roasted lamb — all solid and worth ordering. Four of us got a full spread and came in around 150 per person, which felt like great value. Service was attentive too, they actually explained the dishes when bringing them out. Went on a weekday for lunch and pretty much walked right in. Flavors are consistent, the price-to-quality ratio is high for this kind of restaurant, and honestly it works just as well for a family meal as a hangout with friends. Would come back.
