Reviews
- spindly_pansyJust tried out this new spot, Guanlan, over in the Lize business district, and honestly it was a really pleasant surprise. The whole place has a pretty upscale vibe — fancy but not stuffy, and the private rooms are super spacious and comfy. They're focusing on authentic Jiaodong cuisine, and I gotta say the flavors were really on point. The braised sea cucumber with scallions was a standout — super fragrant scallion flavor and the sea cucumber was so soft and tender it basically melted. And the mackerel dumplings?? Wow. The fish filling was so fresh and had this silky texture, easily one of the best things I've eaten in Beijing. Service was genuinely great too. They took my coat without me even asking, noticed I had a kid with me and immediately brought over a little chair and some kid-friendly stuff. Really attentive without being pushy. It's gonna run you around 280 RMB per person, which for the area and the quality felt pretty fair. Good for a business dinner or a family hangout. Oh, and free parking in the business district is honestly a huge plus. Definitely worth a special trip. I'll be back for sure.
