- Ira_7This place is a real old-school spot in Beijing, and honestly it lived up to the hype. We went for the hotpot and got the lamb and fatty beef — both were super tender, like really fresh and just melted in your mouth. The sesame sauce (麻酱) is the move here, and heads up they charge you by the bowl but it's totally worth it, the flavor is on point. Their Jubao Yuan big mixed cold appetizer was actually really good too, super refreshing. Also tried the lamb skewers and the baked sesame buns (shaobing) — both solid, no complaints. The veggies were fresh and tasted clean, nothing soggy. Definitely coming back next time I'm in the mood for shuanrou (hotpot). If you're in Beijing and craving good hotpot, this is a solid pick.
