The location on the 6th floor of Chaoyang Joy City is super easy to find, right by elevator 7. They're all about the fresh-grilled, made-to-order fish and they've got a bunch of flavors to pick from. The classic spicy mala one is so good — that numbing, fragrant chili flavor really gets into the fish. They also have a soy sauce flavor that's not spicy at all and the saltiness is just right, which is perfect if you're bringing kids. They use catfish that barely has any little bones, and the flesh is super tender. My friend and I grabbed a set menu for two and the portions were more than enough. The side veggies like potatoes, tofu skin, and bamboo shoots soak up all that sauce and become the best part honestly. Right now if you dine in they give you hawthorn juice or sour plum drink on the house, which is sweet and tangy and really helps with the spice. Price-wise, for being in Joy City, it's actually really reasonable. Service was warm and friendly too. Definitely a great value meal that left us stuffed.
