Reviews
- contemplative_walnutVibe: ethnic Guizhou style mixed with a modern, slightly boho feel. Lighting is on the dim side so the food really stands out, and it's nice and quiet — not chaotic at all. The whole place is covered in little Guizhou touches: Miao batik patterns, wooden stilt-house style dividers, mountain pomegranate themed decor. Feels cultured without trying too hard. Service: they handed us lemon water as soon as we sat down, and the server actually walked us through the dishes, explained the spice levels, and told us how to eat stuff (like timing the sour fish soup at 12 minutes). They give you free pickled radish before the meal and you can ask for more, and if you check in on social media they usually bring out some douhua on the house. Little things like that really add up. Food: legit Guizhou flavors, super sour and spicy in the best way, and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. Definitely get the Shuangshuang roasted chili chicken — it's free-range Guizhou rooster so the meat is really firm, and the charred chilies are smoky with this deep, almost nutty heat. The more you eat the more addictive it gets, goes insanely well with rice. Also had the Huaxi beef rice noodles — beef bone broth that actually tastes rich, noodles with that perfect chewy bounce, beef that's fall-apart tender. Tastes exactly like the street stalls, and the portion is big enough to share.
