Reviews
- Zen_8This Menkuo Hutong place is a total old-school spot for lu zhu huo shao, and honestly it lives up to the hype. The stew is super clean — no weird smells or anything — and the broth is just right, not too salty. Doesn't feel heavy at all when you're eating it. The fried gu chang is the real star, crispy on the outside and perfect with that garlic water dip, so classic. The shop itself is pretty small, maybe like 10 seats, so during peak hours you're definitely gonna have to wait for a table. It's on Xidawang Road, easy to find with navigation, and there's street parking right outside which is a bonus. Vibe and service are both solid, everything's clean and tidy. Prices have gone up a bit from before, but for the quality and flavor, totally worth it. If you're into trying old Beijing snacks or you love offal, this is your place. Coming here in winter with a hot bowl is seriously the best feeling.
