Dishes
Layered Shredded Sugar Fire CakeQian Ceng Shui Si Tang Huo is a traditional Chinese pastry made primarily from flour, brown sugar, and oil. By repeatedly folding the dough, a layered fire cake is created, then baked until golden and crispy. Each layer is evenly coated with brown sugar, giving the pastry a satisfyingly crisp exterior and a sweet, rich filling.
Classic Sauce-Braised Torn ChickenShredded chicken made from chicken legs, blanched and torn into strips, then simmered with sauce to absorb flavor. Key ingredients include chicken thigh, scallions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, doubanjiang, and cooking wine, slowly stewed to infuse rich savory taste.
Fried Small Yellow CroakerFried small yellow croaker is a deep-fried dish primarily made with small yellow croaker. After cleaning the fresh fish, marinate it with cooking wine and salt for a while, then coat it lightly with starch or batter before frying in hot oil until golden and crispy.
Beef and Scallion DumplingsBeef and scallion buns are made with a dough wrapper, filled with a mixture of minced beef and chopped scallions, seasoned with appropriate seasonings, then steamed.
Beef-filled香包Beef-filled dumplings are a type of pastry made with flour as the wrapper and beef as the main filling, typically seasoned with scallions, ginger, and other spices. The dough is rolled into a thin skin, filled with beef mixture, sealed by pinching the edges, then steamed or pan-fried until cooked. The outer skin is soft while the inner filling is savory and aromatic.
Steamed glutinous rice cakeZeng Gao is a traditional Chinese dessert made primarily from glutinous rice and red dates. The preparation involves soaking the glutinous rice, steaming it until cooked, then mixing it with red dates and steaming again in a zeng (a traditional steaming vessel) until the rice and dates are fully blended, resulting in a soft, sticky, and sweet texture.
Sugar Triangle DumplingsSugar triangles are a traditional Chinese pastry made primarily from flour, with fillings typically consisting of brown sugar or white sugar, sometimes enhanced with sesame seeds for added aroma. Shaped like triangles, they become soft on the outside and sweet on the inside after steaming—making them a common choice for breakfast or afternoon tea.
Brown Sugar BunsRed sugar buns are a traditional Chinese pastry made primarily from flour, with brown sugar, yeast, and water forming the dough. After fermentation, the dough is flattened, folded, cut into segments, and allowed to rest again before steaming. The finished product is golden yellow, layered, soft in texture, and fragrant with the sweetness of brown sugar.
Fennel Egg DumplingsFennel egg buns are made with flour as the wrapper, and the filling is primarily composed of fresh fennel and eggs. The fennel is finely chopped and mixed with beaten eggs, then seasoned with appropriate seasonings and stirred evenly before being wrapped in the dough, sealed by pinching, and steamed.
Fermented Soybean DumplingDoubao is a traditional Chinese pastry made with red bean paste as filling and a wrapper of yellow millet flour, glutinous rice flour, or wheat flour. To prepare, roll out the fermented dough into round sheets, fill with red bean paste, seal the edges, place seam-side down in a preheated flat pan, and cook over low heat until golden brown on both sides.
Reviews
- hyper_basilThis place is right by my house so it's super convenient to grab stuff. The sugar pastries are perfectly sweet — flaky on the outside with this rich, not-greasy sesame paste flavor that really hits the spot. The braised hand-shredded chicken is amazing, crispy skin and tender meat with a thick savory sauce, goes ridiculously well with rice. The staff is really friendly and actually takes the time to explain what's what. Place is clean too so I feel totally fine taking stuff home to eat. And the sticky rice cake? Soft and chewy without sticking to your teeth, even better when you pair it with the sugar pastries. Definitely gonna be a regular spot.
