- gaudy_buttercupWas wandering around the area by myself and stumbled on this little noodle shop tucked away in a hutong. Super easy to find though, even though it doesn't really stand out. The place was clean and cozy. Got the zhajiang noodles and holy cow, the noodles had that perfect chewy bite and the sauce was so rich and savory. Tons of toppings too, left me pretty stuffed honestly. Also tried the lamb spine hotpot and the meat was fall-off-the-bone tender, broth was really flavorful. Eating solo here didn't feel weird at all, which is saying something. The owner was running around the whole time but still super nice and welcoming. Honestly felt like eating at a friend's house in old Beijing. Whole meal was super comfortable, prices were fair, and it's the kind of spot where you can just take your time and enjoy it alone. Would definitely come back.
