- monstrous_waspWas wandering around the little hutongs near the White Pagoda Temple and stumbled on this brand new dim sum spot, so obviously had to try it. Grabbed a pineapple bun and a coconut layered cake. The pineapple bun had this super crispy outside, and when I bit in there was this rich buttery smell with just a little tart pineapple juice, not too sweet which I really appreciated. The coconut layered cake was stacked up with so many thin layers, the coconut and sticky rice flavor just melted together, really soft and delicate. Place is tiny, just a few wooden tables, but the whole vibe is cozy and warm. Grabbed a cup of liupao tea to go with it, perfect for just sitting down and taking your time. The pineapple cakes here are actually stuffed with real pineapple, not jam, you can really taste that someone handmade it. Overall flavor leans Cantonese, both savory and sweet dim sum, totally worth slowing down and enjoying.
