- Harper_15Just tried this new Japanese BBQ place on the third floor of Hanyu Hui and wow, the vibe is super easy to spot. They really put effort into the decor and they're even playing that Japanese food show "Kodoku no Gourmet" on the TV, which I thought was a fun touch. The atmosphere is on point. Honestly though, the service is the real star here. You get your own dedicated server who grills everything for you and explains each cut, and people like Xiaoqi and Xiaojie were so warm and attentive. Didn't have to lift a finger the whole meal. For the food, the signature ichiban belly meat is a must-order. It's got that perfect mix of fat and lean, super tender with zero gamey taste — my parents and the kids both loved it. The beef chuck slices come in big pieces and are really well marinated, honestly just a sprinkle of black pepper is all you need. We did the set menu for two and the value is great, came out to around 150 per person and included beef rice and a veggie platter. Plenty to eat. Great spot for hanging out with friends or bringing the family. Weekend tip: book ahead or you're gonna be waiting.
