Reviews
- balmy_slothStumbled into this old-school bakery while passing through Xihongmen and I'm so glad I did. So many different breads to choose from — I grabbed a classic butter bread and a chocolate ha do (kind of like a chocolate cream roll/bun thing). The butter bread had this super crispy outside and soft fluffy inside, with an animal cream filling that was sweet but not too heavy. Really nice layers going on. The chocolate one had this smooth dark chocolate flavor, a little bitter with a hint of sweetness coming back at the end — honestly paired really well. They also had a bunch of nostalgic snacks from my childhood, like sesame wafer sticks and cookies in tin cans, and the prices were super reasonable. Whole vibe felt really old-school and cozy, perfect for just wandering around and taking your time.
