Reviews
- whisper_hydrangeaOld Beijing shaobing spot totally lives up to the hype — you can actually smell the baked bread from way down Andingmen Inner Street. They bake everything fresh on the spot, and the salt and pepper shaobing at 1.5 yuan each has this perfectly crispy outside with just the right amount of salty, savory flavor. Gets better the more you chew it, honestly. The sugar flaky pastry is a must-try, sweetness is on point, and grabbing five or six at a time is the way to go. Their signature shaobing stuffed with braised pork shoulder and beef is super filling, and the bread is way crispier than when I get it delivered — definitely eat in. Grabbed a big bowl of lamb offal soup to go with it, whole meal was like 20-something yuan per person, crazy value. Place isn't big and you gotta wait in line at meal times, but so worth it for that old-school flavor. Perfect if you're passing by and craving a snack or coming specifically to check it out as a fan of old Beijing street food.
